Double Runway Models

Armani Uses the Buddy System for Fall 2009

Any man will tell you that two cute girls walking down the street is better than one. Emporio Armani opted for this new format this week in Milan for his Fall 2009 show. It’s a refreshing change from the one-by-one shuffle-through that fashion watchers have become accustomed to, especially since so many of the runway shows these days are oh-so-long.

I applaud the designer for acknowledging that the audience is in fact savvy enough to analyze two garments at the same time. The whole show feels more human, and adds the impression that these are simply fashionable friends out for a stroll.

Besides, everyone knows women love to head to the bathroom in pairs, so why not let the models share the same luxury?
