People have camped near water bodies since the beginning of time, but camping directly on the water is now possible thanks to floating cabins.
The pointed roof cabins are built on log rafts made of tree trunks and supported by barrels. The camping rafts sit directly on the edge of the Steenberg's Vliet river in Holland and can only be accessed by canoe. As they are moored to the rivers edge, campers can enjoy the calming, rocking motion of the water and the soothing sound of waves lapping on the shore while still feeling a sense of security by knowing they are anchored to land.
The camping rafts include mattresses and seats for four, gas stoves to fry up those fish caught from the cabin's edge, toilet buckets and lamps (although their use should be minimized at night to keep mosquitoes at bay.)
