Bill Clinton Predicts Coming Disaster

During a recent address, Bill Clinton warned of coming disasters (worldwide famine, obesity epidemic) and emphasized the great need for preparedness. He cited distractions (such as fulfilling campaign promises) as one of the reasons long-term disaster planning gets put on the back burner. He said that even when disasters are expected, leaders are too busy planning ahead because they're dealing with emergencies that got away from them.

Clinton stressed that disaster preparedness is of paramount importance and that the costs are not that exorbitant (especially when compared with the costs of dealing with the aftermath of a disaster).
