Stanford's Autonomous Audi TT-S Operates Only With GPS

Designed by students at Stanford University's School of Engineering and VW, the next-generation autonomous Audi TT-S is the latest installment of concept vehicles that can operate without a human driver and no remote control.

One of the coolest features of the experimental car is its ability to navigate only utilizing GPS. The autonomous Audi TT-S was designed to help aid future advancements in automotive handling and accident avoidance.

Implications - The TT-S is unofficially named 'Shelly' and has a computer box that uses Sun’s Java Real Time System which runs on Solaris. The featured video gives you a look at the making of the Audi TT-S. The students working on the project definitely gained some awesome experience.
