Shanghai, China is an ideal spot for a bike-sharing program. The city has long been plagued with traffic as the number of drivers on the road continues to increase. According to PSFK, Shanghai transit authorities launched a brand new bike-sharing program just in time to commemorate World Car Free Day.
Shanghai riders pay a $28 deposit to rent a bike. The first half-hour is free, and it costs about 50 cents per additional hour thereafter. The bikes for the bike-sharing program are produced by Shanghai Forever Bicycles, one of China's most renowned brands.
