La Palette in Toronto, for example, offers carbon-free cooking. Head chef, Brooke Kavanagh said to the Globe and Mail, "There is really not much limit to it. The food tastes the same. The benefit is that it's not using any electricity or gas." His next challenge? Inventing and installing a solar cooker to mount on top of his house. "When the sun is shining, why not use it?"
