If half the celebrities that get busted these days knew their mugshots would look like these criminals, they probably would get in trouble more often.

This collection of photographs are from 1912-1930. Sydney police were simply taking photographs of the criminals in order to have records (duh) of them both close up and full bodied.

It’s funny how at the time, this was probably a very solemn and unwanted event, but now it’s turned into a creative and beautiful set of pictures.
