Artistic Scarring

Are Human Branding and Scarification The New Tattoo?

I have touched on scarification before, but with any emerging ‘art’, things can change at great speed so an update is warranted.

With its roots as a ritual act, scarification is now routinely carried out with a massive variety of designs just like tattooing, although it is considered much more cutting edge (no pun intended) that tattooing.

The results of this body mod procedure leave raised, red images. Scarification can also be used to cover old scars; in a similar manner, branding irons can also be used.

Expanding the reach of scarification by forming it as a new form of tattooing and body modification.

Innovative designs and techniques for scarification and branding, distancing it further from ancient ritual roots.
Scarification for Healing and Body Positivity
Utilizing scarification not just as a form of art, but as a means of therapeutic healing, self-expression and personal empowerment.
