Biodegradable Sculptures

Corrugated Cardboard Art

Mark Langan's corrugated cardboard sculptures are true biodegradable art pieces. The cardboard is sourced from Langan's neighborhood in Brunswick Hills, Ohio. Langan's first piece was titled 'Max & Lori's Move' and used his neighbors' discarded moving boxes.

Mark Langan doesn't render his designs on a computer, sketching them by hand instead. This self-taught artisan took up working with cardboard after he was laid off from his desk job.

Implications - As eco consciousness increases, artists are continuously incorporating recyclable materials into their work. This green art generates buzz in a green-obsessed world, but also furthers a popular artist goal: to transform something seemingly old and unusable into something new and exciting. The drive towards environmental friendliness has impacted virtually every industry, and the art world is no exception.
