Looking like something out of a forgotten fairy tale, this sweet and surreal tiny village photography series by photographer Iveta Vaivode is a journey into her past to better understand her grandmother's history.
Turning back time, Vaivode's new series 'Somewhere Along the Disappearing Path' captures stories from the photographer's grandmother's youth drawn from her memories of her time with her.
Taking us into the world of her past, Vaivode reenacts stories she grew up hearing in her tiny village photography series in Pilcene, Latvia. The simple and almost Amish world is a mystical place where the photographer's grandmother felt accepted.
The reminiscing Vaivode decided to go and visit her grandmother's town when she passed away. Her series 'Somewhere Along the Disappearing Path' captures the rural, eccentric and lush experiences she goes through.
