It may look like your average ball park frank, but there is more to this so-called Spud Dog than meets the eye. Created by blogger John Dawson, from the BBQ-centric food blog Paddio Daddio BBQ, this twist on the classic American indulgence is sure to satisfy your need for grease.

The Spud Dog starts out life, innocently enough, as a hoagie roll. The roll is then tarted up with a layer of melted cheddar cheese and a healthy (or not so healthy, depending on how you look at it) pile of golden french fries. A smattering of caramelized onions is added to the mix, and finally, the hot dog makes an appearance. The whole delicious mess is topped with the obligatory sauerkraut and a generous squeeze of mustard.

Sure to capture the hearts of hot dog-loving baseball fans everywhere, the Spud Dog is a snack for the ages. Stats for French Fry Franks Trending: Older & Chilly
