The latest Shiseido test bans have brought the Japanese cosmetic brand in line with the policies of the European Union (EU). The EU is current cracking down on animal testing via makeup, bringing about European prohibitions against products that allow the cruel trials.
While Shiseido is a Japanese company, even makeup lines that are produced outside of Europe by way of animal experiments will be officially forbidden on behalf of the EU. This has prompted the compassionate move on behalf of the beauty experts, although it has said that it will continue on with animal testing under rare circumstances that question the safety of its merchandise. In any case, the legal codes are certainly pushing labels such as Shiseido in the right direction.
