Viking announces its expansion into India’s river cruise market

Viking enters India’s river cruise market with the introduction of the Viking Brahmaputra, an 80-guest vessel designed specifically for the Brahmaputra River in Assam. Scheduled to debut in late 2027, the ship will feature Viking’s signature Scandinavian design, with all staterooms and suites offering floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and private verandas. The vessel will include amenities such as a spa and fitness center, an open-air Sky Bar, and a restaurant with panoramic river views.
Viking is also introducing the new 15-day Wonders of India itinerary, which combines an eight-day river voyage with a land-based program, including overnights in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. This will allow guests to explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Taj Mahal and Kaziranga National Park. Viking is also offering optional pre- and post-trip extensions to destinations such as Dubai, Kathmandu, and Mumbai.
