Awesome randomness points go to ‘Just For Men’ who have sponsored the Mustached American of the Year Award. In the UK we have a “grow a mustache” sponsored event and the results are horrifying, leaving women all over the country pleading that their men shave those things off.

Not to be left out of the fun, or be sexually discriminated against by ‘Just For Men,’ girls are now donning fake mustaches too. This makes perfect sense to me, and is in fact a trend hot off the catwalks… much better than an example of man drag (ladies who eat sushi dressing up as men).

Trend de la Creme also unearthed a brilliant example of a strange survey on this very subject.

According to an article in the 'Journal of Nonverbal Behavior,' men grow moustaches, beards, and sideburns when they have difficulty getting hitched. In fact, data from 1842–1971 suggests that the number of men with moustaches increases when there is an ample supply of single men on the prowl. Conversely, the moustache ratio decreases when men are cheating. (This is because men tend to shave their moustaches, to convey an impression of trustworthiness to their women, to cover their tracks.
