Mattaforma Designs the new Nursery at Public Records

Local design studio Mattaforma unveils its latest design project in the form of the Nursery at Public Records, which is a plant nursery and communal space for Public Records, which is a Brooklyn-based music venue and restaurant space. The latest project is an outdoor location that is meant to nourish plants and also function as an outdoor music venue. The team used the storage units on location and the empty lot to make this possible.
Co-founder of Mattaforma Lindset Wilkstrom speaks about the project to Dezeen, stating "The brief was an over winter nursery for their garden plant collection, as well as a community space that people could enjoy and learn about plants. With this in mind, we focused first on designing a space that relied solely on passive heating in the winter, treating the plants as our clients first, then adapting a plant-oriented space towards humans as our secondary clients."
