Hostess has come up with a genius plan to boost sales in an increasingly depressing economy. They have introduced 100 calorie Mini Twinkies. It seems that the phrase “super size” is quickly diminishing from our dietary vocabularies and being replaced with mini versions of our favorite snack foods. Not only will they cheer you up, but they are cheap! Hostess sees the smaller, bite size packages as more appealing to its on-the-go market and anticipates that the Twinkie will rise again in brown paper bags everywhere. Who can blame them? Mini bank accounts can only afford mini Twinkies.  Hostess Twinkies are becoming the latest product remade and repackaged into 100-calorie snack packs, a product some analysts say could do well given that more people are packing their own lunches in the slumping economy.
