If you live in a place with a high possibility of being submerged under water and frequent floods, it only make sense to move away from conventional architecture and design when it comes to home building. Rather you would need something that would be able to withstand this force or nature, so why not make it float. Waterstudio, an architecture firm from the Netherlands has done just that. With help from the Dutch government the firm will be building houses on the banks of the Mass River in Massbommel. The house design works in that when water levels rise, as does the sealed foundation, and voila! You have a floating home with a magnificent water front view.

Waterstudios is also working on other projects that would benefit multi-storey complexes, villas, gardens and a floating/rotating hotel in Dubai.
