Exploding Bike Locks - The Smart Lock Sprays Paint on Thieves (VIDEO)

According to statistics kept by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (1997), 66% of cyclists whose bikes are stolen lose their motivation to cycle frequently. UK designer Michael Lambourn came up with his ingenious exploding Smart Lock to encourage people to keep up this healthy and gas-saving activity by deterring bike thieves. The device quickly secures both the wheels and the frame. If the lock is cut, a colored liquid is explosively released, marking both the thief and the ground. It is in essence a forensic lock which helps identify the thief if he or she is caught soon enough. The marked ground also advertises vulnerable parking spots. Source: kith-kin Via: yankodesign |
