Dylan Jade by Calope is a Touching Movement into the Winter Season

Dylan Jade by Calope is the newest striking work from the French photographer. In an incredibly enchanting series appropriately entitled 'Winter Solstice,' the film-like photographs are eerie, gloomy and dark -- themes that epitomize the cold season. Calope's other photo stories adopt similar themes, but this one in particular strikes a chord with the desolate and lonely sense it evokes with every changing angle.

Each of her photographs tells its own story as the subjects struggle to find a sense of belonging with their surroundings. The pain in Jade's eyes is solidified by the barren trees and the shine of the snow on the ground. With titles like 'The Fairy of the Forest,' 'Solitary Heart' and 'Her Soft Green Eyes,' Calope's fascination with the desolate and alone is no secret.
