Artistic bicycle racks like these by David Byrne are what make living in the city so exciting. Number one: People can, and do, ride bikes to get from point A to point B David Byrne expected all kinds of red tape when he approached New York City. The response? Build them, and NYC will use them. Byrne is a boomer that makes things happen. He worked with the PaceWildenstein Gallery to make the street art with the agreement that Pace could sell them after a year being in use. The racks are located from Manhattan to Riverside Park - exactly where Byrne asked PaceWildenstein to put them. Visit the website for a map. References: pacewildenstein, davidbyrneFiled In: |
