The Damir Doma Spring 2012 collection had one strong theme, and that was outerwear. Presenting a Spring collection that is focused on coats and capes is a bold move and did not go unnoticed by the fashion world.

Damir Doma paid a lot of attention to layers, and he told Style.com that he "has been studying the way today's city girls like to wear layers -- jacket, floaty top, slouchy shorts (in silk plissé or delicate lace); menswear blazer over a lace dress."

The Damir Doma Spring 2012 collection is also interesting because it is strongly influenced by the fact that Doma was a menswear designer first, before he ventured into women's clothing. This works to his advantage when it comes to the draping of the pieces, as well as the black, cream and navy palette. However, luxurious shades of burnt gold added a touch of much needed softness to the collection.
