ACEA x Adecco Partner to Close Skills Gap in Green Auto Transition

— May 24, 2025 — Autos
ACEA x Adecco have joined forces in a landmark initiative to address the growing skills gap within Europe’s automotive sector as it transitions toward green and digital mobility. The partnership comes amid mounting pressure to upskill the 13 million-strong workforce to meet the technological demands of electric vehicles (EVs), connected cars, and AI-powered manufacturing.

The collaboration will kick off with the EU Automotive Skills Gap Analysis, a comprehensive study set for mid-2025. The report will evaluate current workforce capabilities and future demands, guiding the development of High-Level Regional Fora -- localised groups tasked with designing tailored upskilling strategies.

A cornerstone of the initiative is the Automotive Skills Implementation Blueprint, a strategic roadmap designed to connect employers, educators, and policymakers in delivering coordinated training solutions. This aligns with broader EU strategies like the Automotive Action Plan and Union of Skills, reinforcing the bloc’s push for climate neutrality and competitive industrial transformation.
