Striving to be more eco-conscious is a shared worldwide goal. With everyone clamouring to save the earth, cities are looking at different ways to lessen their carbon footprint and be more environmentally sound.
The newly proposed United Arab Emirates eco conscious city would be the first solitary sustainable city of its kind.
The design involves the use of enormous sunflower motifed umbrellas that would provide soak up heat from the sun and provide shade during the day, and, like a flower, would close up at night, releasing the heat into the main plaza of the city.
The projected eco-conscious city is due to be completed by 2016 and includes a plaza, five star hotel, convention centre and retail facilities.
