Haute Headgear

Designers Show Whimsical Toppers for Spring 2010

New York Fashion Week is in full swing and already a bevy of haute headgear has come parading down the catwalk. Diane von Furstenberg, Erin Fetherston and Jason Wu all showed intricate head pieces in their Spring/Summer 2010 RTW shows. Furstenberg is no stranger to whimsical hair accessories as she showed oversize bows for resort 2010, giant pom-pom hats for fall 2009, and floral hippie-inspired headbands last spring.

Inspiration for the delicate face-framers was taken from a myriad of sources including Grecian goddesses (DVF) and 1920s flappers (Fetherston). If New York is any indication, haute headgear seem to be the accessory of choice for the upcoming season. Only time will tell if London, Paris and Milan will top models' heads with designer headgear.
