Modified Vader Masks
Tamer Elsawi Remixes Star Wars' Most Iconic Helmet a Myriad of Ways

By: Jason Soy (Rockstar) May 4, 12

If you have ever wondered what Darth Vader would look like if he were to exist in alternate time periods and in different cultures, these Tamer Elsawi illustrations should offer you satisfying answers. The art director has remixed the fallen Jedi’s helmet in a myriad of ways to produce samurai, pharaoh, Roman soldier, American G.I. and Batman versions of the iconic Star Wars villain. Who knew Darth Vader was such a well-traveled chameleon?

For each poster, Tamer Elsawi renders a profile silhouette of the evildoer using vectors. They’re presented in a poster format with varied background colors and a gritty filter to give the images a worn out look. It’s quite impressive how he manages to transform the mask’s shape to suit his needs while still remaining faithful to the design seen in four of the Star Wars films.
