Sergei Tarasov may be a school teacher by day, but by night he sets out to create some of the most impressive paper art people have ever seen. He has taken it upon himself to recreate famous landmarks through a vein of origami art. At first Sergei Tarasov focused on creating a model of Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Russia. Later, he tackled the Svyato-Spassky Cathedral in Munusinsk.
Hailing from the village of Tigritskoye in southern Russia, Sergei Tarasov takes between 6 months and a year to create each of his masterpieces. Considering that the Saint Basil’s Cathedral stands at one and a half meters high while incorporating 60,000 separate units of carefully assembled origami pieces, that should come as no surprise.
