Swashbuckling Fashion Shows

The Marni Spring 2010 Show Mixes '50s Femininity and Pirates

Pirate-inspired fashions were shown at the Marni Spring 2010 show in Milan. Head scarves tied over artfully disheveled hair, dangly flower earrings, stripey leggings and gold bounty-covered corsair-type outfits were paraded down the runway.

If sea-roving men were the inspiration behind the head scarves and striped leggings, ‘50s femininity inspired the color palette of the Marni Spring 2010 show. Muted plaster pinks, mousy beige and rusty browns with a perky splash of bright red thrown in for good measure were on order. Consuelo Castiglioni’s much-loved floral prints were also mixed in with this swashbuckling collection.
