Bomb-Straddling Beauties

Keron Grant Depicts Women Riding Rockets in Freefall

Those who have seen Dr. Strangelove will remember the iconic scene where Major Kong rides an atomic bomb to his death, which is no doubt what Keron Grant was inspired by when he rendered these scintillating paintings. Only in his version, instead of a cowboy-like figure straddling an a-bomb, he depicts hot pin-up models riding rockets in suggestive poses. I think I prefer these pictures to Stanley Kubrick’s vision.

Keron Grant’s images were rendered digitally, though they retain a painterly aesthetic. The two pictures in his emerging series features different art styles, with one image being reminiscent of wartime propaganda posters while the other being much more cartoonish and contemporary. He titled the series ‘Suicide Bombers,’ and is probably in the process of adding more paintings to the collection.
