Hilda Hellstrom’s Vessels Challenges the Idea of Fake and Real

Hilda Hellstrom is a contemplative artist whose geological art is inspired by the idea of subjectivity. Hellstorm is intrigued by the concept of what is considered as real and ‘fake.’

She studies this idea by recreating items such as vessels and urns and creates them to look like the stones that she finds in the nature. She enhances their look through various techniques such as painting and polishing. By doing so, she challenges the importance that people place on the very subjective idea of what is real.

These Sedimentation urn and vessels are one of the few projects Hilda Hellstrom has completed through this idea. The vessels are incredibly beautiful for their pseudo-natural look and vibrant colors. Regardless of how real one might perceive them to be, they are without a doubt a stunning visual feast.
