Snail Poop Packaging

Manuel Jouvin Creates Cases from Dyed Snail Excrement

I’m sure the French look at snails a whole lot differently than we do in the West—as art, for instance. Or as a source of functional feces, as is the case of French designer Manuel Jouvin who creates packaging out of dyed snail excrement.

The project is called Dejection-Moulding and the resulting packaging is used to contain cooked snails—so, Jouvin’s dyed snail excrement cases really bring the whole process full circle. The designer encourages the snails before they are cooked to eat colored paper (not sure exactly how he does this) which actually changes the color of their feces. Who knew?
