Overheated Pet Warnings
Dog Caller Sends You a Text When Your Pup Gets Too Hot

{SummaryTitle}

While it’s a bad idea to leave your pet in the stifling heat of your car during the summertime, sometimes you just have to (for example, you just need to quickly grab something from the store); in this case, Dog Caller will help you out.

Created by ad agency Rethink and Aaron Starkman, who had a close call leaving his golden retriever for a few minutes in his car, Dog Caller will alert dog-owners via text that their dog is overheating. The device is made of a SIM card, a thermistor, some LED lights and a coded chip, describes The Star, and it works like a phone, sending you a text whenever your dog’s temperature exceeds 26 C (approximately 79 F).

Dog Caller is still in the prototype phase, but the team plans to crowdfund the project and make it available next year for about $20 per collar.
