U.E.G. Makes Disintegrating Designs of Shirts, Dresses, Bags

The U.E.G. design company’s name stands for ‘Usa e getta,’ or ‘Use and toss.’ That’s the idea behind these biodegradable clothes, that apparently disintegrate over time. According to U.E.G., disintegrating designs are all the rage.

U.E.G. is an interesting company, and an existentialist statement about the temporal nature of life is nice and all, but how about some durable clothing? Disintegrating designs actually seem to be anti-eco clothing. Instead of a piece that will hold up to the test of time, U.E.G. has created clothing that guarantees a need for replacement. Interesting as an art statement, not so interesting for buyers.
