Endangered Flower Fashion

Blooming Cyclamen at Diana Bobar

Trendinista follows her excellent fish-inspired fashion post with a superb study of Diana Bobar's Spring'08 ready-to-wear collection. This time, inspiration seems to come from the endangered Wild Cyclamen, a tubular Mediterranean flower with breezy, spiral petals.

Trendinista explains that the genus name Cyclamen is derived from the Greek word kyklamenos which means "circle form". The circular movement of Bobar's latest dress designs strikes a cord with such circle form and as seen by the accompanying images, they possess a striking resemblance with these delicate flowers.

I have to tip my hat off to Trendinista and her amazing talent in finding such smart comparisons and magnificent natural images.
