The Butterfly Keyboard is Inspired by the Flying Insect

The Butterfly Keyboard may look like it was made to target the fairer sex, but it was actually designed for a more ergonomic positioning of the hands while typing. The traditional keyboard is split in half, offshooting up and outwards to accommodate a more comfortable angle of the arms and wrists.

Conceived by Ireland-based designer Ian Leonard, who recently graduated with a BSc Product Design degree, the Butterfly Keyboard takes on a zoomorphic design by reflecting the physical aspects of the flying insect it portrays. In addition to the health benefits of the Butterfly Keyboard, it also provides a peaceful environment for working individuals. It boasts touch buttons that emit a tranquil LED blue glow around the edge of the computer accessory.
