The new “Marinade on Demand†package from Sealed Air's Cryovac Food Solutions assembles fresh meat and marinade in a single package. They remain, however, in separate compartments until the user is ready to marinate and cook. The package is a thermoformed roll stock package, creating two chambers during thermoforming to separate the fresh meat from a marinade. The system offers benefits for meat processors, foodservice operators, supermarket retailers and consumers, as it allows for an easy and sanitary marinating process.
The marinating process is simple. When the consumer is ready to marinate, he can squeeze the marinade pocket breaking the seal between the two compartments. The marinade is then pushed into the meat compartment which starts the marinating process that lasts as long as the consumer desires.
Food processors can run the “Marinade on Demand†package on their current thermoforming machines.
