Like a Ski Lift for Cyclists

Trampe Bicycle Lift

90% of Trondheim's 30,000 students use their bikes as their main form of transportation. The third largest city in Norway has an extremely steep hill running right through downtown which was extremely hard for cyclists to climb in the past.

To help cyclists climb to the top of the hill, the Trampe Bicycle lift was installed. When riders step onto the footplate, the Trampe acts as a ski lift T-bar, pushing riders up the hill while still mounted on their bikes.
