Fran Drescher Wants Hillary Clinton's Senate Seat

If Hillary Clinton is confirmed as secretary of state for Barack Obama’s administration, her Senate seat will naturally be up for grabs; actress Fran Drescher has made it known that she’s in the running to take Clinton’s place.

The nasal New Yorker is perhaps most famous for her starring role in ‘The Nanny,’ but Fran Drescher is also an advocate for women’s health and is a public diplomacy envoy for the U.S. State Department, according to her publicist, Jordan Brown.

Fran Drescher certainly wouldn’t be the first actor or actress to cross over into the realm of politics. Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Al Franken, and Sonny Bono were all once merely actors before they became politicians.
