Assistive Apparel Hangtags

Digimarc's 'Barcode for Apparel' Shows Styles Not on the Retail Floor

At this year's National Retail Federation show, Digimarc exhibited its Digimarc Barcode for Apparel application, which gives apparel hangtags the chance to do more than just be scanned at the point of sale.

With the Digimarc Barcode for Apparel, consumers are able to empower themselves and use their phones to complete a purchase right from within the aisle of a store. Before this happens, consumers are also able to use the smart merchandising solution to locate styles, sizes and colors that are not available on the retail floor. As such, Digimarc is introducing the Barcode for Apparel as a way to create an 'Endless Shelf' that supports ecommerce sites.

Aimee Arana, Digimarc Executive Vice President, describes that "The 'Endless Shelf' is the new reality of integrated commerce with high expectations to deliver shopper experiences to access products when, where and how they want. This is a significant challenge for traditional brands and retailers."
