The Emporia in Sweden features unusual architecture. It has a boxy design alike many other modern buildings, but the Emporia gives way in the middle to an interesting twisted glass sculpture that makes the building look as if it is collapsing in on itself.
The dramatic warped glass building will be mixed use, host to retail shops, residences and office spaces. The design puts the retail shops to the inside, giving residences and commercial offices the best views. This winning proposal by architecture firm Wingårdhs brought this multi-use building to the city of Malmö.
In years to come, Wingårdhs designed the building to expand with the growth of the city to accommodate even more attractions like spas and amusement parks.
