Frank & Patrik Riklin's Anti-Idyllic Suite is for Sleepless Nights

Swiss artists Frank and Patrik Riklin created a one-star hotel installation that promises a sleepless night thanks to the accommodation's lack of privacy or shelter. The Null-Stern-Hotel (Zero-Star-Hotel) takes the form of a double bed on a platform, complete with a pair of bedside tables and lamps. To make matters worse, the concept artists' hotel room with no walls, no ceiling and no doors is set up on the roadside next to a gas station in the village of Saillon.

The one-star hotel was devised to get guests thinking about the problems in the world and inspire different actions. Frank Riklin says, "Sleep is not the point. What's important is reflecting about the current world situation. Staying here is a statement about the need for urgent changes in society."
