Van Leeuwen's Vegan-Friendly Green Ice Cream Boasts Matcha & Algae

Typically, the most popular type of green ice cream that is available to consumers is mint chip but Van Leeuwen is introducing a special Vegan Green Planet matcha ice cream just in time for Earth Month.

In collaboration with MatchaBar, Van Leeuwen is releasing what it calls "an inside-out take on our Vegan Planet Earth featuring vegan matcha ice cream." The ice cream itself is made with a base of raw cashew milk, coconut cream, raw organic coconut oil, pure cocoa butter and organic cane sugar, plus MatchaBar’s ceremonial-grade matcha green tea and pieces of housemade blue spirulina almond cake.

As part of its spring menu, Van Leeuwen is also introducing a few other new flavors, including another vegan-friendly option in the form of its gluten-free Vegan PB&J Bon Bon.
