Replacing an earlier home with a similar footprint, the residence is organized as two intersecting gabled volumes linked by a flat-roofed connector to reduce the perceived scale while creating varied interior and exterior spaces. Reclaimed cypress and Douglas fir wrap the structure above a native stone foundation, responding to the site's existing landscape and surrounding woodland.
The interior arranges communal living areas around a central stone chimney, with private bedrooms positioned along the southern side and recreation spaces, a sauna, and outdoor access located on the lower level. A highly insulated airtight envelope, triple-pane glazing, strategic solar orientation, and exterior shading reduce energy demand while supporting indoor comfort.
