STUDIOTAMAT has completed Casa Continua, a 115 square meter apartment in Rome's Flaminio district. Throughout this project, the firm focused on turning architectural constraints into functional devices that organize space and encourage social interaction.
The project united three former rooms into a continuous living area with restored original panelled parquet flooring running uninterrupted throughout. The reading room has an intimate character, with a "tactile and secluded atmosphere." STUDIOTAMAT also integrated structural columns into custom oak joinery that houses bookshelves and built-in seating. The dining room uses reeded glass and burgundy metal partitions that filter light without blocking it entirely. The sleeping area, on the other hand, features large oak wardrobes with upholstered central panels and a Flou bed in ochre velvet.
