URBANJOBS has transformed a narrow industrial volume at Tersane Istanbul into AINEN — a contemporary and stylish burger bar. A key feature of this destination is the three-dimensional ceiling intervention, which activates the vertical dimension to overcome the site's elongated geometry.
AINEN boasts an open kitchen design. A multifunctional island in the spaces operates a service element during the day and transforms into a DJ setup at night. All furniture is movable to accommodate varying crowd sizes and events. A layered lighting system, which was developed in dialogue with the ceiling geometry, allows the atmosphere to shift without locking the space into a single mood. The ceiling infuses the interior with direction, rhythm, and movement that many will find intriguing.
Thanks to URBANJOBS’ clever, practical and aesthetically balanced design decision, the AINEN is a burger bar that adapts to the time of day and the energy of the crowd.
