Staggered Sea-Viewing Terraces

Foster + Partners' '3Beirut' Design Maximizes Views of the Sea

In any city with a waterfront, getting a view of that coast costs a premium, so Foster + Partners designed the luxurious 3Beirut condominium buildings to offer as much sea view as possible. The three towers are staggered both vertically and horizontally, maximizing the amount of units whose balconies look out on to the Mediterranean.

There are three buildings in the 3Beirut complex. Their bases are offset along the plot of land on which they sit, meaning that the building in the middle isn't obscured by the other two surrounding it.

Further, the buildings have varying heights. Typically, the tallest building is considered the most luxurious, but by placing the tallest building farthest from the sea, all three of the buildings get equally impressive views.
