Geometric Wireframe Racks

Who's Next by Marco Ripa is Sculpturally Minimalist

When empty, Who's Next by Marco Ripa of officina Art & Craft, a designer and craftsperson based in Porto San Giorgio, Italy, looks like a geometric wireframe sculpture. In reality, it is a magazine rack. Incredibly artistic for such an ordinary object, it brings a stylish and modern element into the home.

Based on the overlapping of a cube and a parallelepiped, Who's Next by Marco Ripa is made out of metal. According to Plusmood, "He chose iron as his signature metal because it’s dirty, noisy and rejects repetition." Of course, there is nothing dirty or noisy about this magazine rack. Instead, the lines are strikingly clean and the silhouette minimalist. Plusmood also notes, "We are able to see only the essential structure, just what is necessary to create the shape, in a positive-negative game where you can tell what there is and what there is not."
