Dorte Mandrup Architecture turned former Copenhagen dance hall Valencia into a modern office space for the Association of Danish Law Firms. The five-story building now features two floors of administration offices and three upper floors of apartments.
Dorte Mandrup unified the three buildings and added an aluminum structure inside the 19-century dance hall in order to make the space functional while also showing off the building's original interior. The office space in the old Valencia are now a bright yellow that adds a renewed sense of life to the space.
The converted Valencia dance hall is a good example of reclaimed space that allows for the repurpose of meaningful spaces. The office features unique contemporary design aspects while also championing staples of modern offices such as open concept workspace and creative lighting that doubles as aesthetically pleasing decor.
