Foster + Partners Will Design Crystalline Twin Skyscrapers in California

Architecture and design firm Foster + Partners has had the design for its twin skyscraper approved to be built in San Francisco.

In collaboration with the architecture firm Heller Manus, the architects have created a design with some very unique concepts. Its multifaceted design will offer a bright, diamond-like appearance on the surface of the building which will produce a beautiful ethereal effect. The building will also feature ground floors that will be public space, with pedestrian routes that work as an extension of the area's existing streets and alleyways. This concept is designed so that the building can be fully integrated into the city's "urban grain" and planning.

The ground area will also feature stores, cafes and plenty of greenery -- making the building look fresh and providing a little bit of variance from regular city blueprints.
