Sushi-Inspired Sofas

Fernando and Humberto Campanas Create Rolled Fabric Furniture

A collection of chairs, sofas, tables, stools and bowls by Campanas (Fernando and Humberto of Brazil) have Asian culinary influences. The duo started with favelas, overlapping pieces of fabric together making mats and bedspreads.

The idea developed into rolling fabrics of different types together like sushi rolls - lo and behold, what you get is some colourful art and function!

Creating something like the sushi-inspired sofa is bound to get attention because of its bizarre medium (but one that is essential to life).
