Jameson's Seaweed Bitters are Blended with Classic Herbs

Bitters are essential cocktail enhancers and while they are traditionally flavored with herbs and spices, Jameson has devised a new concoction of seaweed bitters. The 46% ABV cocktail ingredient is the latest release from the iconic distillery and is described as "a highly concentrated infusion of Jameson Irish whiskey, a variety of herbs... and wild dillisk seaweed." The other herbs used in the flavor enhancer include cinchona, wormwood, ginseng and gentian.

The seaweed bitters prominently feature the use of wild dillisk seaweed, which is currently harvested by hand in Long Rock, County Sligo. The seaweed is then dried naturally on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way before being brought to Jameson's Midleton Distillery for final production. The concept may seem strange but the seaweed bitters apparently have earthy aromatics that are said to complement the brand's whiskey quite well.
